Providing for the Gifted Child
No homeschooling program in the world boasts more gifted
students than The Trent Schools
-
What is a gifted child?
-
There
are many forms and aspects of giftedness: creative, academic, musical,
artistic. The Trent Gifted Child Program is intended for the
academically gifted.
-
Exactly what does
academically gifted mean?
-
By Trent standards, an
academically gifted child is any child under the age of sixteen who has
been tested by a state certified psychologist, or has taken the Trent
Schools Placement Test, and has an Intelligence Quotient of 137 or
greater.
-
What's the difference between the
Trent Gifted Child Program and the regular Trent curriculum?
-
All courses are tailored to meet
the abilities, needs, and particular talents of each student, but the
Trent Gifted Child Program differs in the following ways:
-
Within the Trent Gifted Child
Program, a student may advance as quickly as his or her abilities
and personal drive permit. They are permitted to "test
through" entire sets of lessons.
-
A student in the Trent Gifted
Child Program is given more personal attention than a regular
student, and is required to attempt more written and practical
assignments.
-
If my child is gifted, is she or he
required to enroll in the Trent Gifted Child Program instead of the regular
Trent curriculum?

-
If I enroll my child in the Trent
Gifted Child Program, must I employ a Trent Online Teacher to assist me?
-
What is the cost of the Trent
Gifted Child Program?
-
How do I enroll my child into the
Trent Gifted Child Program?
